Intruder Alarm Packages
All alarm systems start with a control panel and/or keypad. You can either have this as an all-in-one (keypad onboard) or have these separately. The location would be discussed between the customer and the engineer to determine the best location for your home. We have varying sizes and shapes that allow flexibility for whatever space it needs to fill. We offer push-button keypads and touchscreen keypads to suit different styles and aesthetics of homes.
All of our systems also have the capability of having a mobile app. Our smartphone app allows users to access their alarm system from anywhere in the world. Switch the system on and off at the touch of a button, and gain notifications if the alarm is triggered. Please see our product add-ons page for more information on the effectiveness of having an app for your system.
Audible Deterrent
Here at Nova, we always say that your external siren is arguably the most important part of your system. This is the only part of your system visible from your property's exterior. Making sure it is up to date and looks the part is vital to deterring potential intruders away from your home. Noise is one of the key ingredients in an effective alarm system. At full capacity, our external sirens are 110dB (equivalent to a rock concert!). All of our intruder alarms come with a brand new external siren, with the option to add a decoy siren to your package too.
Your control panel and/or keypad also have a built-in siren, allowing an audible deterrent inside the property. We also offer wired and wireless options for internal sirens. Internal sirens are small but pack a punch; this can give the inside of your property an extra boost of noise in the event of a break-in.
The Next Task is Choosing the Detection Devices Needed to Cover Your Home.
These are the working parts that trigger your alarm system during a break-in.
- PIR Detectors
PIRs are sensors that will trigger on movement. These are normally placed in the corners of rooms looking at the entry points to the property.
- Magnetic Door Contacts
They are fitted to external doors to detect the opening and closing of the door.
- Shock Detectors
They are fitted to windows and/or doors to detect vibration. If somebody smashes glass or tries to open the door, this device will trigger your alarm system before an intruder can enter the property. These are especially effective on doors at the rear of your property, which is often the main entry route for a burglary.
- Shock & Contact Dual Device
A dual device that features both the Magnetic Door Contact and Shock Detector. Essentially getting two solutions for the price of one.
- Outdoor Detectors
An Outdoor Detector can be fitted anywhere across the back or side of your premises to ensure any potential thief is caught in their tracks. This device works similarly to a PIR detector, which will trigger when it detects movement. Outdoor Detectors are IP rated and completely weatherproof. They are also Pet Friendly, meaning any animals that enter your garden won’t be picked up, minimizing the risk of false alarms.
Usability Extras
We have a range of products that can help you use your home intruder alarm system more easily and efficiently.
- Wireless Fobs
A Wireless Fob is a handheld device normally stored on your keys. It is a push-button remote that can turn your system on and off. This can be especially useful for someone hard of sight who would struggle to use a keypad, or if your main control panel/keypad is a cupboard or hidden away where access isn’t straightforward. Fobs also come with a built-in panic alarm. Holding two of the buttons down can trigger the system off if you ever felt threatened in your home when the alarm isn’t set. - Proximity Tag
A Proximity Tag is another device normally stored on your keys. It is a small disc that works on the same technology as a contactless bank card. Rather than having to use your keypad manually, a tag allows you to swipe across the keypad to set and unset your alarm. Again this can be useful for someone with a disability who would struggle to use the regular keypad. - Wireless Doorbell/Push Button
Also on offer we have a multifunctional push-button device. This can be used as a standard doorbell. Fixed to the exterior of your property, when pressed your control panel/keypad will alert you with a customisable chime noise and will also send a notification to your phone if you have the app. This device can also be used as a Help Call. If you have an elderly relative, you can have this device installed in their home and in the event of an emergency, they can press the button which will send an alert to your phone that this person is in distress.
